Braids are in vogue once more, and there are different ways to braid hair. From simple braids to the more stylish fishtail braids, this information will help you to choose the best option for your hair.
One of the easiest ways to create a new hairstyle and manage your hair is to braid it. Braiding your hair is very easy, and there are many different styles and methods that you can choose from. Whatever your face shape or texture of hair, there is a braiding style just right for you.
If you do not want to wear your hair open, but are also reluctant to make an updo hairstyle, then you can choose a braid hairstyle. All you need is an elastic band, a good hair brush and possibly a hairspray to create braids.
There are many different ways to braid hair from the classic simple braid, to the more complex French braid, rope braid, Dutch braid, fishtail braid, and herringbone braid.

Simple Braid

Before you attempt to do any elaborate or complicated braids, you should know how to make a basic simple braid. First brush your hair with a wide-toothed comb to remove any kinks and tangles.
Now, sweep all your hair back and divide it into three equal sections. Hold two sections of hair in your left hand, separated by one finger and hold the third section in the right hand. Place the section of hair which is in your right hand over the top of the middle section.
Now place the extreme left section of hair over the new middle section and pull the sections tightly. Place the right hand section of hair over the middle section and the left section over the new middle section. Continue braiding your hair in this way, making sure that you braid it tightly. When you reach the end, secure the braid with an elastic band.

French Braid

Now that you know how to make a simple braid, let us move on to the more complicated French braid. There are many variations of the French braid, like a side French braid or the French over braid. Let us learn the basic French braid.
Start by brushing your hair with a paddle brush and then divide your hair into a two-inch section from the top of the head. Divide this into three equal sections, and start braiding your hair as you did while making a simple braid. Take a small even section of hair from the right hand side of your head and add it to the right strand.
Place this right hand strand over the middle strand and pull the middle strand to the right. Again gather an even section of hair from the left hand side and add it to the left section of the braid.
Place this left section over the middle section and pull the middle strand to the left. Repeat these steps until there is no hair to be added from the sides. Finish the braid and secure with an elastic band.

Fishtail Braid

If you are looking for a sophisticated braid, then you cannot go wrong with a fishtail braid. First brush your hair with a wide-toothed comb and gather it into a ponytail at the back of your head. Now divide the ponytail into two equal sections and hold them in one hand.
Pull out a thin even section of hair from the right strand and cross it over to the left-hand section. Take another thin section of hair from the left strand and cross it over to the right strand. Repeat these steps over and over until you have reached the end of your hair. Secure the braid with an elastic band.
Braided hairstyles can even be converted into updos. Bunned braids and a rose bun are two of the most popular hairstyles used in weddings. Also, braids are very easy to do and can be created in a matter of minutes with practice.
