The basic difference between sugar and salt scrub is that the latter is a bit harder than the former. The following article on sugar scrub vs. salt scrub will help you understand more about these popular exfoliators.
As a woman, I love pampering my skin and love to try out some natural remedies for the same. As a part of the healthy skin regime, I was advised to use body scrubs as they help exfoliate the dead skin and rejuvenate the underlying skin by rehydration. This gives the body an overall glow, and a smooth and velvety appearance.
These body scrubs are very popular during summers when the skin begins to peel and suffer from sunburns. The most common exfoliators used in spas are the salt scrubs, though a new one has been introduced known as the sugar scrub. There are quite a few differences between these products

Sugar Scrub Vs. Salt Scrub

Sugar Scrub
  • Is softer than the salt scrub.
  • Stickier than the salt scrub.
  • These are more gentle and are better for sensitive skin.
  • Dissolve readily in hot water, which makes them less abrasive and coarser than the salt scrub.
  • These do not have any mineralization benefits of salt scrub, and are used for facial exfoliation as they are gentle in nature.
  • They are best suited for first-time users and people with sensitive skin.
  • This is not good for those with excessively rough skin, as it will not help in removing the dead skin.
Salt Scrub
  • Is rougher than the sugar scrub.
  • Not sticky like the sugar scrub.
  • These have therapeutic benefits that help remove the toxins and impurities from skin.
  • They are abrasive towards the skin and help smoothen caloused skin.
  • These have mineralization properties that help in achieving a healthy skin.
  • These are best suited for people with dry and rough skin. They are also good for those with acne, as they absorb excess oil.
  • It is a bit irritating and stingy to the skin. Therefore, it should not to be used on sensitive, irritated, or cut skin.
