Acne is one of the most common reason, as it always leaves a mark after its healing. To get rid of those marks, apply lemon juice on the affected area a couple of times a day. Lemon juice contains citric acid which helps to exfoliate the skin thus helping to fade the spots.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is an effective remedy if the discoloration is caused due to dead skin cells. Baking soda helps to get rid of the dead skin cells, without damaging the skin, as it is an abrasive.
New skin will be revealed once you have got rid of the dead skin cells. To make use of baking soda, simply mix it with 1 tsp of water and apply this paste on the discolored areas. Leave the paste for about 30 seconds, then wash off.

Kojic Acid

This is one of the ancient remedies, which was discovered in Japan. It is nothing but a natural product that was discovered from fungi. This acid is said to be gentle on the skin, it is said to restrict the formation of pigment and works only on the upper layer of the skin. But, be careful before using it randomly, as it can be damaging to the deeper layers.

Hydroquinone

Hydroquinone is a bleaching cream, which inhibits the formation of new pigments. It takes about 24 hours to see the effect. Though hydroquinone is effective, it irritates the skin for some people, so it is better to consult a dermatologist before making use of it.

Sour Milk

Sour milk contains lactic acid, this lactic acid can help to get rid of the dead layers of the skin which helps it to rejuvenate. Making use of sour milk is easy. Simply take a little sour milk in a bowl, dip a sterilized cotton ball and apply on the affected area, before going to sleep at night.

Orange Peel

Grind dried orange peels till a powder is formed. Add this powder to a bowl along with yogurt or milk to form a thick paste. Apply this paste on the face and other affected areas.
It is better to opt for home remedies rather than the chemical ones, as home remedies are completely natural and safe, and without any side effects.
