Deepa Kartha
Shea butter lip balm is considered to be one of the best products for treating chapped lips. However, not many people know that it is actually possible to make it at home itself. Here are some recipes for making one at home.
Having chapped or cracked lips is something that most people experience sometime or the other in their lives. Although chapped lips do hamper the person's physical experience, it can be frustrating, if it starts bleeding or becomes painful. One of the most common methods that people use to treat chapped lips is by applying petroleum jelly.
Though this is an effective remedy, it does not have a long time effect because it is not absorbed by the lips. Due to this, you have to apply petroleum jelly between regular intervals.
Also, it has been observed that too much of petroleum jelly can make the lips more dry. Hence, it would be better to choose a natural solution to get rid of dry or chapped lips. One of the best ways of curing dry lips is by applying lip balm.

Shea butter is a natural fat which is extracted from the nuts found on the African Shea-Karite tree. It is made of fatty acids, tocopherols, and cinnamic acid which moisturize the skin as well as the lips, thus making it soft and supple.
Moreover, it also nourishes the lips, and hence, is considered to be good for lips. Though there are many companies which manufacture such lip gels, you can easily make it at home on your own.
