Updos are back in style, and although they look complicated, some are quick and easy to create. Read on to know more about such updos.
During summers, keeping your hair out of your face and nape is very liberating and comfortable. And so, updos are the perfect hairstyle and the best thing is they suite both, a casual occasion or a formal one.
You might think that an updo is very complicated and time-consuming, and you simply do not have the time to style one when you are rushing to work, but that is a popular myth. Many updos are very simple and easy to do, and do not require a lot of effort and time.

Quick and Easy Updo Hairstyles

Updos are not only chic and sophisticated, but are a lifesaver when you are having a bad hair day. A quick updo can hide a multitude of hair problems like greasy hair, split ends, and frizzy hair.
A perfect updo should not only look good, but it should also not take more than 10 minutes. And seriously, who has the time to go for complicated hairstyles when you have to rush to office for work.

Bun Hairstyle

One of the best hairstyles that is suitable for any occasion is a bun.

♦ First, wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo followed by a conditioner.

♦ Blow dry your hair until it is smooth and dry. Now divide your hair into three sections―two sections over the ears and one section at the back.
♦ Now tease the hair on the crown to give it more volume by back combing. Gather the hair that has been sectioned in the back of your head into a low ponytail. Again backcomb the ponytail to create extra volume and a slightly tousled look.
♦ Pull the ponytail into a low bun by twisting it around the base of the ponytail and secure with bobby pins. Take the front sections of your hair and curl it with a curling iron so that the curls lie away from your face.
♦ Take two-inch curled sections of your hair from both sides of the crown area and pin these to the bun. Let the other curls fall over your face. Apply a spritz of light hairspray to set the hairstyle in place.

Twist Hairstyle

This works well for medium hair with a thick texture that has been washed a day or two before.

♠ First, backcomb the top and crown portion of your hair to create more volume in this area. Now, divide this section from the temples, and twist the hair in such a way that there are no snags in the front.
♠ Pin the section you have just twisted with the help of bobby pins, and angle them slightly so that the pins remain hidden.

♠ Take another two sections from just above the ears and twist and pin them in the same way, just below the first section.

♠ Repeat the same procedure until all hair has been pinned back. Use a styling spray to secure the hairstyle.
The most important thing to remember while styling a quick updo is to keep the style simple. You can also use different hair accessories like glittery pins, combs, and even hair brooches to make your updo more interesting.
Updos also make you look young and sophisticated, and help define your features. Experiment with your hair in your spare time, and you are sure to come up with more ideas.
