Natural Eye Cream

Our eyes are the most attractive feature of our face. For this reason, women make special efforts to make them more beautiful by highlighting them with makeup. However, fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles tend to cause damage to the skin surrounding the eyes. As a result, the eyes lose their appeal. As the name suggests, natural eye cream is made up of simple ingredients and is used to improve the look of the eyes.

The skin surrounding the eyes is highly sensitive and tends to lose its natural elasticity very easily, which causes sagging of the skin, along with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The factors that contribute towards this problem include aging, extended exposure to the sun, excessive smoking, etc. In some people, the problem of wrinkles worsens rather fast due to their genes. Here is a homemade recipe for an anti-aging cream.

Ingredients: 3 or 4 tablespoons of unsweetened applesauce and one medium-sized grated potato.

Procedure: Take the grated potato and applesauce in a bowl and mix them well. Let the mixture chill for about 5 minutes. Then apply it around the eye area carefully so that it does not touch the eyelids.

Cover up the eyes with a damp piece of cloth and let the cream be soaked into the skin properly. Wash it off with lukewarm water after 10 minutes. This should be applied 3 to 5 times every week. The malic acid present in the applesauce will exfoliate the skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

The factors causing dark circles are poor nutrition, aging, allergies, and in some instances, it could be genetic. Irrespective of the cause, dark circles can be treated with the help of an eye cream prepared at home.

Ingredients: Tomato puree, a pinch of turmeric powder, lime juice, and wheat flour.

Procedure: Mix all the ingredients together in order to prepare a thick paste. Apply the freshly prepared eye cream gently around the eyes. Make sure the cream does not get into the eyes. Relax for 15 minutes with the eye cream on and then wash it off. While washing, take care that you do not rub the skin harshly. If applied regularly, this cream will lighten your dark circles.

When your eyes are tired, then they tend to become swollen and puffy. You can provide a soothing effect on the eyes by making this cream.

Ingredients: Beeswax, olive oil, and aloe vera gel.

Procedure: To begin with, heat some beeswax in a double boiler at medium heat. Take some olive oil in a separate pot and boil it at the same temperature. Pour the melted wax and the oil in a blender and blend the mixture for around 5 minutes.

Then add some aloe vera gel into it and blend again for 5 minutes. Store this cream in the refrigerator. Apply the cream on puffy or inflamed eyes caused by sunburn, and wait for 10 minutes before you wash it off. It will have a calming effect on the eyes.

This eye cream is going to provide adequate nourishment, which in turn will enable the surface of the skin and its underlying layers to stay hydrated. Thus, the chances of appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are reduced.

Ingredients: Lanolin, almond oil, lecithin, and rose water.

Procedure: Melt the lanolin at a very low temperature. Then, add almond oil, followed by the powdered lecithin to it. Stir the mixture well and add some rose water. Keep it on the heater for one more minute in order to assure that the mixture is melted well. Apply this cream every day before going to bed. It will keep the wrinkles and dark circles at bay.

Thus, you can see that making eye creams at home is easy and simple. The best part is that they do not contain any synthetic material or harsh chemicals. Hence, even if these are used for a long period, they won't cause any harm to your eyes or the skin. If you continue using them even after the wrinkles or dark circles are gone, these creams can prevent them from reappearing.
