Some women are born with thin lips, while some experience thinning of their lips as they grow old. In the former case, cosmetic methods like silicone injection can work well. However, in the latter case, the lips can remain plum if you follow some home remedies.
To start with, protecting your lips from sun damage can make a significant difference. Always apply a lip balm with SPF to protect your lips whenever you have to go out in sun. At night, moisturize your lips with an intense moisturizer.
This will prevent drying, and hence thinning. In case your lips have started thinning, you should take necessary action to prevent it. This is possible by using lip plumper. Let's see how we can make one at home.

Recipes

Recipe 1

Cinnamon is believed to promote blood circulation. Thus, it can be an ingredient of a homemade lip plumper. You may feel a stinging sensation in your lips due to sudden increase in blood flow. To ease such a sensation, you should add substances like olive oil, collagen oil, and a vitamin E capsule.
Take 3 teaspoons of cinnamon, olive oil, and collagen oil. Mix all the ingredients well. Put the mixture in a small container with a lid, and refrigerate it. Apply it on your lips daily before going to bed.

Recipe 2

The second lip plumper recipe needs cinnamon leaf essential oil and jojoba oil. You can also use olive oil, coconut oil, or any other natural oil if jojoba oil is not available. Take a small, airtight container. Take 2 drops of jojoba oil and cinnamon leaf essential oil in the container.
Close the lid and shake the bottle well to mix the oils. Now apply it on your lips before going to bed on a regular basis. This will give you a perfect plump effect over a couple of days. Make sure that you do not use cinnamon oil directly; it may burn your lips. You must dilute it with another oil, not with water.

Recipe 3

You need 1 tsp petroleum jelly, ground ginger, 2 drops of peppermint extract, ½ teaspoons of beeswax, and 2 teaspoons of red pepper. You will again need a small, airtight container to store it. A lip balm container is well suited for this purpose. It also prevents bacteria and fungi from growing in the lip plumper.
Mix petroleum jelly, beeswax, ground ginger, and red pepper in a plastic bowl. Now, add given amount of peppermint extract to the mixture. Put the freshly prepared lip plumper in the container. Place it in the refrigerator.
Make sure that you prepare this in small quantities, at a time. This is because this particular recipe works best when used fresh. Use it daily before bedtime.

Recipe 4

Take a 3 teaspoons of aquaphor, a few drops each of Vitamin B3 and Vitamin B6, a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, 3 drops of cinnamon leaf essential oil, and a drop of clove oil into a bowl. Mix all these ingredients with a spoon. The mixture thus prepared is a very effective lip plumper. Alike all other described above, you can apply it to your lips at night to get the best possible result.
All the recipes that we've seen so far are effective; however, you need to use them for a prolonged period of time to see better results. A good diet will ensure you have healthier lips. Also, don't forget to protect them from sunrays.
