Shampoos for Itchy Scalp

A constantly itchy scalp can be really irritating. If you tend to constantly touch your scalp due to that feeling, you are at risk of getting an infection. It is therefore advisable to make use of some homemade shampoos which are especially formulated for this condition.
Are you suffering from itchy scalp problem? The reasons can be many, but an easy remedy is probably what you are looking for. There are a number of shampoos available in the market for this purpose. While most of these will give you instant results, a few will have a long-lasting solution.
Moreover, the chemicals can lead to dry and damaged hair. So, to counter these side-effects the following homemade recipes will definitely help you.

Chamomile Tea

To prepare this shampoo, you will need 3 cups of chamomile tea, 3 tbsp. grated Castile soap, 5 drops of any of the essential oil, and 1 tbsp. of glycerin. Mix these ingredients well. Now use this solution to wash your hair. Massage it thoroughly on your scalp to get rid of itching.

Baking Soda

You can make a classic oily shampoo using baking soda. However, before its usage one needs to apply some extra virgin olive oil over the scalp and hair, and let it soak for 20-30 minutes. Now, take some baking soda in a bowl, (the amount will depend on length of your hair) and mix it with water to form a paste.
Use this paste to clean your hair and scalp. Apply it thoroughly over your entire scalp and hair length. Now wash it off with water. Make sure no traces of this paste are left in your hair. Finish by applying apple cider vinegar and then rinsing it off to have shiny hair.

Organic Shampoo

Here is an organic shampoo that is very effective in curing this problem. For preparing this mix, use 1½ cups of distilled water. Boil it in a saucepan and then remove it from the heat. Now add 1 tbsp of dried rosemary, 1 tbsp. of dried lavender flowers, 1 tbsp. dried nettle leaves, and 2 tbsp. of dried chamomile flowers to this water.
Cover this mixture tightly and leave it for about an hour. After an hour filter the mixture in a bowl and further add 1 tbsp. of jojoba oil to it. Mix well and then add ½ cup organic castile soap and ½ tsp. of lavender oil. Again mix well and store the mix in an air tight bottle in your refrigerator.
Use this classic organic shampoo to get rid of that irritating scalp. Make sure you shake the bottle before using it.

Other Remedies

You can make a gentle after shampoo lotion for the dry scalp using rosemary essential oil. Make sure your hair is pre-washed with your regular shampoo. Now, add five drops of rosemary oil to one cup of warm water. Massage this well in your scalp. Leave it for 15 minutes.
Towel dry your hair and comb them. You can use this after each wash to cure the problem. Another remedy is using fenugreek seeds. Use this remedy before washing your hair. Soak fenugreek seeds overnight. Grind them in the morning and apply the paste over your scalp.
Leave it for sometime and then wash off your hair. Now apply apple cider vinegar to finish the treatment.
These recipes are very effective in curing the problem. Moreover, use of ingredients like apple cider vinegar and essential oils will also give a shiny look to your hair. So, no more irritation, get ready to relax and flaunt your gorgeous locks.
