How to Wax Your Eyebrows

Mamta Mule
No one likes bushy, unkempt eyebrows in dire need of some trimming. Let's take a look at how you can get rid of unwanted hair, within minutes.
Your eyebrows are an essential part of your face; your expressions depend on its movement, whether narrowed, raised, or arched. While our eyes and mouths help people decipher our emotions, it is the eyebrows that fill in the gaps. Over-tweezing or thinning out your brows is a huge no-no, not to mention, an unattractive sight.
Thick eyebrows that are in shape without a stray hair in sight, is what you want to achieve. To help your eyebrows grow a little faster if growth is scanty, apply a layer of castor oil over it before sleeping, every night.

How to Wax Your Eyebrows at Home

While we do not recommend that you do this on your own, you can experiment with the idea of doing it yourself before getting a hang of it. A professional is always better to trust than your own set of hands, for fear of muddling up the entire thing. Nonetheless, here's how you can wax your brows without leaving it to grow wild and free.

Prep Your Brows

Using a light cleanser, wash your face, concentrating on the areas around your eyebrows. Wash the soapy suds away and pat dry with a clean towel. Next, apply a thick layer of petroleum jelly on the areas you do not wish to wax, leaving the rest bare.
Using a temporary marker with a tiny nib, draw the outline of the eyebrow shape you want to achieve post waxing. It'll help you follow the outline without messing up.

Rely on a Wax Kit

A wax kit comes with vital instructions, making it easy to get the job done without regretting it later on. If you wish to make a wax concoction at home, you can do this by mixing together two tablespoons of honey, 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Use waxing strips cut down to size. Take the spatula (if you don't use a kit that usually comes with one, use the back of a plastic spoon) and carefully apply the wax on the unwanted parts of your eyebrow, including the area between the two.

The Final Outcome

Pat the waxing strip over the waxy layer, rubbing it gently to produce a little heat for it to adhere better. In one swift motion in the reverse direction of the hair growth, rip the waxing strip off and quickly rub the area to relieve pain and avoid redness.
Continue waxing the areas you want to eliminate hair from, using a pair of tweezers to get rid of stray hair; do not wax the same spot again. Use a soft cloth dipped in cold water to gently wipe any residual wax away. Layer your eyebrows with a little moisturizer and you're good to go.
