With complex lifestyle and stress, pimple problems are becoming the most talked about topic. From prevention to cure there are a host of studies being done to find solutions. A pimple takes days to cure but its redness can be reduced so that it isn't prominent enough to scar your beauty.
This story will guide you through simple and easy ways to solve your pimple problem.
When the pimples are being treated, a kind of redness tends to develop in and around the affected area. The redness is due to the inflammation inside the pimple. Many a time, it is accompanied with pain around the affected area which does not cease until the pimple vanishes.
It is such an ugly sight that people want to get rid of the marks as soon as possible. However, it is very difficult to get rid of this kind of pimple redness. Sometimes, it may stay even after a year of healing of the pimples.
I would like to warn you if you get tempted to squeeze the red pimple as it looks very bright and prominent on the face, never do that! This is because it will only slow down the healing process, and at the same time will leave behind scars.

Quick Ways to Eliminate Pimple Redness

If you visit a dermatologist and ask how to reduce redness due to pimples, he or she will give you some antibiotics for this purpose. They may work, but when used for a prolonged period of time they may have some adverse effects on the skin.
The antibacterial creams dry your skin which creates other skin problems. Therefore, we shall look into some easy-to-use home remedies to find a cure for "every girl's worst nightmare ''.

This is a traditional method of reducing redness of pimples. Before going to bed, apply a coin-size amount of toothpaste over the affected area. Allow it to stay over the pimple all night long. Next morning, wash it off with water. You can see that both the redness as well as the inflammation has reduced to a great extent.
The advantage of using toothpaste on the pimple is that it prevents the oils secreted by the underlying glands from getting accumulated in the surrounding areas of the pimple. As a result the pimple can heal faster. In "Simple Skin ", Dr. Ellen Marmur and Gina Way theorized that this method is more effective if you use a toothpaste containing silica.
One thing you have to keep in mind here is that you cannot use those toothpastes that are in the form of gel.

Aspirin Method

Mix aspirin and water to form a thick paste. Apply it on the affected area of your skin and leave it for few minutes until it dries. On drying the aspirin will begin to scrape off on its own. You can also use a tissue or cotton to clean the area up. Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory, so it works on the acne to reduce its redness and inflammation.

Witch Hazel

It is an astringent prepared from the witch hazel shrub. Apply this astringent on the affected area twice or thrice a day. This will reduce the redness as well as the swelling around the acne. If you are unable to find this astringent, you can substitute it with tea tree oil.

Cucumber Juice

Fresh cucumber juice is an excellent remedy to remove redness from the pimples. The juice helps to make the open pores of the pimples tight and thus decrease the redness. Extract some cucumber juice and apply it generously all over the face and allow it to stay on your face for about 15 minutes. Then wash it off using lukewarm water. Tomato juice can also be used for this purpose.

Ice Cubes

Use of icepack on pimples is quite common to cool down a reddish pimple which is warm to the touch. It is effective in bringing down both the inflammation as well as the redness of such pimples. Hold the icepack gently over the pimples for one or two minutes.
During application of the ice, make sure the ice does not stay on your skin for long time as it can lead to damage of the skin cells. Moreover, do not press it over the pimple as it can lead to breakage and pus will come out.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera gel has some excellent qualities that makes it a great choice for reducing redness from pimples. It is a good astringent, it has antibacterial properties that help to fight the infection and has good anti-inflammatory properties, too. Take some gel and apply it on the pimple that has redness. Leave it overnight. Next morning, wash it off and you can see the difference.

Tea Bag

Place a wet tea bag directly over the pimple for five minutes. To increase the effectiveness of this method, you should keep the wet tea bag in the refrigerator for half an hour and then use it.

Yogurt is an excellent solution for the problem of redness of the pimples. This is because the acidic properties of the yogurt can destroy the bacteria responsible for causing pimples and thus lighten the redness. For this take some plain natural yogurt and discard the whey from it.
Make a smooth and creamy paste of yogurt by mixing it well. Apply the yogurt in the form of a thin layer on your entire face and let it work on the pimples for about five minutes; then rinse off with warm water.

The above-mentioned methods, though effective, need few hours to a day to show the actual results. If you are in a hurry and need some remedy for hiding the pesky pimple, try out these few tricks.

Eye Drops

Yes! You read it right. Dr. Audery Kunin, dermatologist and assistant clinical instructor of dermatology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, suggests redness-relief eye drops as an expert remedy against acne. Soak a cotton swab and hold it over the affected area for 10 seconds. This will do the magic temporarily. You can also repeat the procedure, once the effect fades out.

Instead of using a compact or a regular concealer, use a non-comedogenic powder with ingredients like grapefruit extract and potassium. This powder will calm the rubor and zap the zit, too.

This can be the best instant fix found easily in any girl's purse. The use of the concealer to hide marks is well-known, but the hidden fact is the choice of the color shade. Instead of a skin color concealer use a light green color one on your pimple. Green helps balance the shiny red color of the acne.
No matter which method you choose to reduce your pimple redness, you have to take certain measures to ensure better results. Clean your face with the help of a mild face wash and water to get rid of the dirt and grime on the skin. Then dry it up with a soft towel.
Hygiene is the first step towards getting rid of this problem. Stress and poor diet have been found to be the root cause of acne breakouts. Stay away from stress and live a healthy life, looking pretty always.
