Step 1
Gather all hair at the nape into a ponytail. Use a thin hair elastic for beginners.

Step 2
Twist hair 2-3 times clockwise or anticlockwise, feeling it tighten at the nape.
This will help form a base near your head that will give support to your hair.
Step 3
Hold ponytail, twist hair up, keep roll close to head.
Step 4
Take remaining hair up, fold down towards nape, aligning with hair roll's seam.
Step 5
Use right hand to push folded section into hollow gap of the roll near nape.
Make sure you tuck in all the hair into the roll without allowing any stray hair sections from getting away.
Step 6
Secure with bobby pins or comb pins under the French twist. Use as needed.
Slide it down the opposite side. If you feel, you can use more pins to hold your hair in place.
