Homemade Hair Mask

Application of a homemade hair mask is an excellent way to revitalize the health of hair. Here are some recipes that you can try at home.
Every day, the hair is exposed to a large variety of chemicals that are found in hair styling products like dyes, straighteners, etc. which results in damaged hair. Dust and heat are the other factors that often cause harm to the health of hair.
Hair masks can be used to get back the natural beauty of the hair. Most people prefer to use homemade masks with natural substances that are easily found in our homes simply because they are not very expensive and safer to use.

Hair Mask Recipes

There are three types of hair, dry, oily, and normal. Various hair masks that can improve the condition of different types of hair are discussed here. Some of them can be used to treat common hair problems.

For Dry Hair

Banana avocado mask is one of the best options for dry hair. To prepare this mask, you need one medium-sized banana, half an avocado, an egg yolk, one tablespoon honey, and two tablespoons of olive oil. First, mash the banana and avocado to make a smooth paste, and then add the other ingredients to it.
Mix it well and apply it on the hair in such a way that the hair strands get covered with the mixture from root to tip. Allow it to sit on the hair for half an hour and then wash it off with a good moisturizing shampoo. This mask should be applied once a week for a month before you can see some improvements.

For Oily Hair

The ingredients for this recipe are the juice of one lemon, one tablespoon of Bur root oil, and one egg yolk. Mix all these three components well and apply it on the hair. Let the hair soak in it for 15-20 minutes. Lemon juice is very useful to remove the oil from the hair. Wash out the mask with a shampoo which is suitable for oily hair.

For Healthy Hair

This mask will help to maintain healthy hair and is applicable to all hair types. Use one tablespoon of honey and 2 tablespoons each of olive oil and rosemary oil to make a mixture. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes.
Then, apply this to your hair by massaging gently with the tips of your fingers. After that, cover your head with a warm towel so that the oils can get absorbed into the scalp and hair properly. Wash off with shampoo after half an hour.

For Dandruff

Fenugreek seeds are extremely helpful to get rid of dandruff. It can also tackle other problems like hair loss and split ends. Take a handful of fenugreek seeds and soak it in water overnight.
Next morning, grind it to make a smooth and thick paste. Apply it properly all over the scalp and hair and leave it untouched for about 20 minutes. Then, wash it off with a mild shampoo. This hair mask can be used for all types of hair.

For Split Ends

Split ends not only give a dull look to the hair, but also adversely affect the growth. Papaya contains some natural ingredients that work wonders on split ends.
Take a ripe papaya, peel off the skin, and remove the seeds from it. Put it in a blender and blend it to make a thick paste. Add about half cup of yogurt into it and apply it thoroughly on the hair strands. Wait for about half an hour and then shampoo your hair.
Along with these treatments, you also have to follow a good hair care regime. This includes regular oiling, shampooing, and conditioning of hair. Proper brushing is also a must, but avoid over-brushing. Check regularly for split ends and trim them in order to promote hair growth.
