In fact, foot care is also a vital part of the regular beauty regime. An unkempt feet can be repulsive for many.
So, try regular pedicure along with some daily care so as to retain the looks of your tootsies. Daily application of foot cream will soften the skin of the feet and provide it with adequate moisture.

How to Make Foot Cream at Home

As mentioned above, foot care is often forgotten and this results in dry, rough and dull skin with cracked heels. Even the skin of the toes may develop fine lines and cracks. You can get rid of such a condition by proper and regular foot care.
This include scrubbing and moisturizing. While, scrubbing is not a necessary part of daily foot care routine, moisturizing is a must. For this purpose, you may use a store-bought creams for feet or a homemade one.
Homemade ones with natural ingredients are always preferred to ready-made ones that can be expensive too. So, here are some recipes for homemade foot creams.

Peppermint Foot Cream

If you are looking for an easy recipe for making peppermint foot balm, the best method is to mix a moisturizing cream base with a few drops of peppermint essential oil. Make sure to weigh the cream base beforehand and use peppermint oil in the right amount.
In this case, the right amount is 2 percent of the weight of the cream base. All you have to do is to mix them well and store. You may also add a few drops of aqua blue liquid color for that minty feel. If you are looking for an elaborate recipe with more ingredients, then try the following one.
  • Peppermint essential oil - 5 grams
  • Liquid glycerin - 20 grams
  • Cocoa butter - 75 grams
  • Stearic acid (thickener) - 15 grams
  • Emulsifying wax - 25 grams
  • Germaben II (preservative) - 5 grams
  • Distilled water - 350 grams
How to Prepare
Take a microwave safe bowl, into which you have to add the ingredients, except Germaben II and essential oil. Heat the mixture, till the solid ingredients get melted. Make sure that the mixture does not boil (you may also use a double boiler for heating the ingredients).
Take out the bowl and add Germaben II in it. Combine well and let it cool, before adding the peppermint oil. Use an immersion blender to mix them well. Allow the cream to get completely cool, before storing it in sterilized jars. If you are using two ounce jars, you may need eight of them.

Shea Butter Foot Cream

  • Shea butter - ¼ cup
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla essential oil - 8 drops
  • Peppermint essential oil - 8 drops
  • Beeswax (grated) - ½ ounce
How to Prepare
Take a pan and add the ingredients, except the essential oils. Place the pan over low heat and allow them to form a melted mixture. Make sure to stir the ingredients continuously, while they melt. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, before stirring in the essential oils. Combine well and store in sterilized jars, as it gets completely cool.
You may try any of these recipes, but make sure to use the cream, every night, before bed. You may wear socks to cover the feet, after application of foot cream. If you find the task cumbersome, the option is to buy foot creams from the stores.
