However, when there are a number of items easily found in the kitchen that can be used to get healthy hair, why would we want to use the over-the-counter ones?

Easy Home Remedies for Healthy Hair

In olden days, people had nice, thick, and shiny hair. Their drug counter, more often than not, was the kitchen!

Lemon Juice

Dandruff is a common problem. Applying lemon juice on the scalp helps in preventing dandruff. After applying lemon juice, leave it on the scalp for 10 to 15 minutes, and then rinse off. This remedy is suitable for any kind of hair. It helps keep hair clean and healthy.
However, it should not be left on the scalp for a large period of time. At the same time, do not use this remedy too often, as it can also lighten the hair when used excessively.

Olive Oil

Dry hair need a lot of care and nourishment. Olive oil is one of the best remedies for dry hair. Massaging the hair and scalp with olive oil nourishes hair, and also helps them grow. It is recommended that you leave the oil overnight and shampoo the hair in the morning for better results.

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise is made from oil and eggs, both of which help moisturize hair, and add shine and strength to it. The proteins in eggs promote healthy hair growth. Apply mayonnaise on the hair for not more than an hour. At the same time, this should not be used very often, as it can make hair greasy due to its fat content.

Coconut Milk

Coconut milk mixed with gram flour is a good hair pack, especially for dry hair. To a cup of coconut milk, add about two tablespoons of gram flour. Apply the paste to the scalp and hair about once a week. Massage gently, and rinse the hair after 20 to 30 minutes.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a great natural remedy for general maintenance and health of hair. It not only helps remove buildup on hair, but also helps soften it. Mix 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with 3 cups of water. Pour the mixture on your hair after the final rinse. It will make the hair soft.

Home Hair Care Tips

It is recommended that you stay away from chemical hair bleaching products, gels, and colors. They often tend to dry out hair, and make them look lifeless and hard. Cleaning hair with plain, simple water at regular intervals, will make sure there is no dirt accumulation. However, make it a point not to use a lot of chemical shampoo, as it often takes away the natural shine of the hair.
For good health of your hair and skin, it is important that you consume sufficient quantities of water. Drinking plenty of water will hydrate hair shafts and keep them healthy. Regular trimming of hair is recommended to prevent split ends and further damage.
You will also have to take care of what you consume. The ideal foods for healthy hair are green vegetables, sprouts, fruits, cereals, grains, honey, whole grains, milk products, lean proteins, soybeans, oily fish, etc.
