Who doesn't crave for long and lustrous hair? I bet we all do. This story tells you how.
A healthy hair growth is desired by all of us. But often we are unaware of how to go about it. While massaging your scalp regularly is an age-old remedy, thorough research has come up with more solutions. Let's get to know more.

Essential Tips

The first thing to keep in mind is to consume a well-balanced diet. Diet rich in proteins, low in carbohydrates and fat is an ideal diet. Proteins can be included in the form of yogurt, soy, lean meat, egg whites, beans, fish, etc.
Your diet should be rich in Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty essential acids, by consuming sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, tuna, etc. The vitamins that promote hair growth are Vitamin B, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Vitamin A.
Consuming folic acid regularly also helps. It is best to consume vitamins in their natural form, although there are supplements available for the same.
Avoid nicotine, caffeine, and carbonated drinks as they are believed to block healthy growth of hair. High stress levels are also a common cause, and hence it is important that you take plenty of rest and sleep.
It is best to avoid excessive brushing and combing. Do not pull your hair when you are trying to get rid of tangles. You may not want to tie them into cornrows, tight ponytails, buns, etc. As far as possible, avoid using hot water to clean your hair. Use lukewarm water. If you must use hot water, wash them with lukewarm water at the end of each wash. Styling products also cause a lot of damage, and therefore should be avoided.
Massaging the scalp is a great way to stimulate hair growth. Make small circles with the tip of your fingers to stimulate the hair follicles. Oil can also be used to massage the scalp. It is best to use lukewarm oil.
An essential tip for women is to trim their hair at regular intervals, to avoid split ends. Covering them when you travel is also recommended. After a wash, avoid the use of hair dryers, as the heat from the dryers proves to be harmful.
Before you start using any of the cosmetic products, even if they are labeled 'natural', should be used after consulting your cosmetologist. Same is the case with the hair care products like shampoo or conditioner. Last, but not the least, include exercise in your daily schedule and see the results for yourself.
