However, not all of them are effective. The following are some natural cures for your reference.

Indian Gooseberry

Indian gooseberry or amla is the most effective natural cure for gray hair. You can either consume it whole, since it is a rich source of vitamin C, or you can even apply it directly on your scalp. It is also available in powder form so that it can be made into paste, and applied on the scalp.

Henna

Henna naturally renders a reddish brown color to hair. Thus, it can be used as a natural hair dye. It is also a good conditioner, and is devoid of side effects. You can either grind fresh henna leaves, or mix its powder with water, and apply on scalp. It is important to leave it on for at least 2 hours. You may have to use it once every two months.

Fenugreek Seeds

Soak a handful of these in water, and leave them overnight. Grind them the next morning, and mix with yogurt (2 tbsp). Apply this mixture on scalp, and let it stay for an hour or so. Wash it off with a normal shampoo. This also gets rid of dandruff, and makes hair soft and shiny.

Hibiscus

Hibiscus flower extract forms the essential ingredient of almost every anti-graying product. However, it is most beneficial in its natural form. Take 3-4 hibiscus flowers, and crush them. Boil around 200 ml olive or coconut oil, with the crushed hibiscus flowers in it. Strain the concoction when it cools. Apply this oil at night while sleeping, and wash it off the next morning. Follow this routine at least 2-3 times a week. You should notice considerable improvement. Hibiscus gel is also effective, provided it is not over-processed.

Molasses

Molasses are an unusual cure. Consuming a spoonful of blackstrap every morning reduces graying of hair. Additional advantages include curing depression and high blood pressure.

  • Incorporate foods that are rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, and proteins
  • Cover your hair while going out in the sun.

  • Do not subject your hair to frequent treatments like coloring, perming, straightening.
  • Do not use shampoos or other hair care products with harsh chemicals.
