Agreed that frizzy hair can be very difficult to tame. Sometimes, you just have a 'bad hair day' everyday. If your hair is long, the situation gets out of control more often. Though there are many ways in which you can tame your frizzy strands, the best option is to get a suitable hairstyle. This will save your efforts considerably. If after the haircut your hair still decides to not behave, follow the tips mentioned below to get it under control.

For Women

Women with frizzy hair can try different hairdos to style their hair. If you have long hair, consider getting a goose cut. If not, you can braid it, bun it, or sport a ponytail. Use hair bands or hair claws to get a neater look.
A bob will also reduce the time you spend on managing your hair. If you want to keep your hair long, layer it to reduce the volume. You can also get a typical Christmas tree or pyramid cut to maintain your hair. The layers should be long and should begin below the chin. A channel cut also helps; keep it flat on the top of head to avoid a puffed up look.

For Men

Before we proceed to the haircuts, you must know that there are herbal hydrating creams and styling gels that can repair damaged hair follicles and provide nourishment to your hair. Applying pure, natural herbal products is always better than chemical hair gels. Use these whether you get a haircut or not.
Short haircuts tapered at the end, will reduce the length of your hair and retain only a small part of the curls at the lower edge. A crew cut is your best option if you have absolutely frizzy and dry hair. This cut requires minimal maintenance, as the hair is cut very short from the sides with a bit longer on the top.

Essential Tips

  • Prefer a wet look for your hair to calm down the clumsy volume.
  • Always maintain the style. Visit the salon at least once in three months to trim the ends.
  • If you observe split ends, go for a trim immediately, before it does any damage to your hair.
  • Avoid using a razor to trim the ends of your hair.
  • Massage your hair with oil before you wash it. Apply a good conditioner after shampooing.
  • Avoid styling your hair with gels, mousse, or chemicals. This can give you a temporary clean look but will damage your hair completely in the long run.
  • Avoid using a hairdryer, hair straightener, or hair iron as much as possible.
  • Brush your hair regularly to prevent tangles.
Before getting any kind of hair styling done, make sure you ask the hairdresser whether the styling would suit you or not. Go in for something that looks the best on you.
