Frizzy hair, that is unsightly and hard to control, is a bane that many women have to face. Most common causes are unsuitable hair care products, styling your hair with harsh chemical products, weather conditions, and a poor diet. These causes result in the hair losing its moisture and having split ends. It is quite difficult to tame frizzy hair.
Moreover, frizzy hair lack the luster and shine that is usually observed in healthy hair. Here are some essential solutions that will help you tame your hair, making it more manageable, smooth, and totally frizz-free.

Effective Solutions for Dry and Frizzy Hair

Shampoo your Hair:

One of the basic solutions is the use of a gentle shampoo and an intensive leave-in conditioner. Frizzy hair require special clarifying shampoos formulated for moisturizing and balancing the hair follicles. When shampooing, massage the scalp to stimulate natural oil production. Do not shampoo your hair too often as they lose the moisture balance.

Leave-in Conditioners:

Frizz control requires you to condition your hair on a regular basis. Most of the conditioning products for damaged hair work by coating the hair strands, and deposit a film over it, thus adding luster and shine to your hair. After shampooing your hair, use a good moisturizing conditioner.
Coat the hair stands with it and leave on for five to ten minutes. Wash off thoroughly with cold water. This allows you to restore the moisture balance of the hair follicles and prevents the frizz. Deep conditioning treatments done in most hair salons eliminate the hair damage and control the frizz.
If these conditioning options are expensive, try using products with ingredients such as aloe vera, vitamin E, and panthenol (a vitamin-B-based moisturizer). Smoothing frizz serums and pomades are a good bet against dry, frizzy hair.

Using Hot Oils:

Oils that have been warmed and other hot oils available in stores help to keep the hair moisturized and healthy. Coconut and olive oil are some of the best remedies for dry, damaged hair. Heat the oil a bit and apply it to the hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap, and let the oil soak in overnight into the hair shafts and roots.
You can use olive oil with a cup of honey. Apply the mix of three tablespoons of olive oil with a cup of honey to your hair, and leave it on for thirty minutes. Wash off with cold water using a mild herbal shampoo, and follow it up by applying a cream conditioner.

Hair Masks for Frizzy Hair:

One of the best solutions for frizzy hair is the use of hair masks. Banana hair masks work quite well to tame dry hair. For making your banana mask, mix two mashed ripe bananas with two tablespoons of honey and half a cup of milk. Apply and leave on this moisturizing hair mask for twenty minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Bananas mixed with curd or avocado have the same effect on frizzy hair. A hair mask made of mashed strawberries with mayonnaise is an excellent conditioning mask for damaged hair.

Proper Hair Care:

Already damaged hair should be taken care of properly. This includes using proper hair brushes and fine-toothed combs for hair. Avoid excessive heat styling and the use of flat irons, blow dryers and other styling appliances that damage the hair. Watch out for hair care products with high alcohol content that reduce hair moisture making it frizzy and dry.
While coarse hair tend to be irritating, use of these simple solutions can help you tame dry hair and add shine to it. These remedies are restricted only to the treatment of the outward causes. If internal factors, such as a poor diet, are the reason behind thinning, dry hair, then it is best to address these causes.
