Facial bruising can occur on account of a number of reasons, such as, any trauma or injury caused to the face by an accident, as an aftermath of a cosmetic surgery, result of a dental treatment, and due to certain medical conditions, such as asthma and anemia, especially, in children. It can also be caused due to the intake of medications, such as anti-inflammatory medicines and blood thinners. The bruises often make the face of the person seem blue, and can cause pain in some cases. Ice Packs

Application of ice will help in getting rid of the associated swelling as well as pain. Ice also aids in speeding up the healing process. To apply ice, wrap a few ice cubes in a towel or a plastic bag, and apply on the skin area of the face, where bruises are visible. Continue applying ice for about ten minutes. Repeat it a number of times during the day to get relief from pain.

Topical Creams

Creams, which contain ingredients, like, arnica, vitamin C, rosehip oil, and vitamin K, should be applied to the wound directly for better healing.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Application of apple cider vinegar stimulates blood circulation, thereby removing the clotted blood from the skin area. To apply it on the face, mix it with water in the ratio of 1:2, i.e., amount of water should be twice the amount of the vinegar. Take a cotton ball, soak it in this mixture, and apply it gently on the bruises.

Arnica

Arnica has many antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also known to be a great pain reliever. So, applying a gel that contains arnica, on the affected skin, four times in a day, helps in healing the facial wounds as well as reducing the pain caused by them.

Calendula Cream

Application of calendula cream helps in faster healing of the wounds. So, apply calendula cream on the bruise, twice a day, for desired results.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera gel is very beneficial for treating minor injuries on the face. Simply, apply aloe vear gel on the bruise, and let it sit there for a few hours. Keep reapplying the gel until you see a marked difference in the appearance of the bruise.

Thyme

Thyme is a herb, which is known for its healing properties. Simply, boil this herb in a pan for about fifteen minutes, allow it to cool, and then, drain the mixture to remove the thyme leaves. Now, take this thyme water, and with a cotton ball apply it on the bruises.
Besides the above-mentioned remedies, eating a diet rich in vitamin C will contribute immensely. Fruits and vegetables that contain vitamin C and bioflavoids, help in strengthening the capillaries, thus preventing bruising. So, eat lots of broccoli, papaya, oranges, mangoes, peppers, potatoes, and tomatoes, and see your bruising disappear in no time.
