Instructions

Dry skin brushing is a procedure where you brush your skin when it is dry. However, there are conditions in which dry brushing of skin is not advisable. These skin conditions are poison ivy rash, phlebitis and other skin rashes.
Also, remember, not to brush your skin so hard that it becomes red. Here are some of the ways in which you can dry brush on different areas of the skin.

Step 1

Always start with the feet and then go in the upward direction. Start with the bottom of the foot and brush the top and bottom of the foot 5 times. After that brush your ankles and then, slowly move in the upward direction to the knees.
While you start brushing the legs, you must do this in a circular direction. After knees, repeat the same procedure for the other leg. Then start brushing the front and the back areas of the thighs.

Step 2

After the legs, the hips must be worked upon. As you are dry brushing in a circular motion on the legs, come upwards towards the hip area. Try to brush in those areas where you know there are cellulite deposits. It must be done sideways in a back and forth direction, across the waistline. In the same way, you are supposed to dry brush your stomach and back area.

Step 3

Using the brush, dry brush your skin on the neck and the back area. However, for the face, you must use a different brush which has much softer bristles.
