Dry Feet Cure

Massaging with olive oil or petroleum jelly is an easy way to get rid of dryness in the feet. A foot bath with epsom salt can also be helpful to relieve dry cracked feet.
Dry feet is a painful condition typically marked by cracked heels. The dryness is particularly visible on the soles of the feet. The soles of the feet becoming excessively dry can even make it difficult to walk properly. Improper foot care is the main reason behind the occurrence of unusual dryness in feet.



Before you actually start applying a cream, you need to scrub the dead skin. This can done with the help of a pumice stone. Scrubbing the dry, dead skin, also referred to as exfoliation, exposes the soft skin beneath it.
However, one should ensure that during this process, the skin is not damaged. After exfoliating the dry skin properly, one should now apply the recommended cream generously. Removing the dead tissues and then using the moisturizer is an effective way to get rid of dry skin from the feet.
One can use petroleum jelly products as foot cream. Many also prefer to use cocoa butter solution on cracked heels. Generally the foot is massaged with the recommended cream before going to bed at night.

Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is commonly used to treat severe cases of dry feet. Put some amount of epsom salt in a big vessel containing lukewarm water. Now, dip the feet in the water and let it remain for 15-20 minutes. After the stipulated time, scrub the skin with a foot file to remove the dead tissues easily. Follow this routine daily to soften dry skin.

Baking Soda

Use of baking soda is another way to eliminate dryness in feet. In 4-5 liters of warm water, mix half a cup of baking soda. Now, immerse the feet in the solution for around 30 minutes. Once it is over, wash the feet with pure water and then dry it with a clean towel.

Vinegar Foot Baths

Add one cup of white vinegar in 4 - 5 liters of water. Mix a drop of dish washing liquid into the solution. Immersing the feet daily into the mixture for about half an hour can help to relieve dryness.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is the main ingredient of a wide range of skin care products and commonly used to treat dry skin problems. Extremely dry and cracked feet often respond quite well to olive oil.
Just rub it on the affected area everyday and you will soon start noticing positive results. However, before using olive oil, first clean the foot with soap water solution, scrub it with a pumice stone and then dry it. Massaging with olive oil daily can help to restore softness in skin.

Do and Don'ts

People suffering from dry skin on their feet should not walk barefooted as it can aggravate the condition. Wearing breathable socks in the daytime and especially after applying the creams is essential to speed up healing.
When it comes to choosing socks for dry feet, go for cotton socks, instead of the synthetic ones. One should not wash the feet with soap containing harsh chemicals. Wearing ill-fitting shoes can also make matters worse. So, you should be very particular, about the kind of shoes, you prefer to wear.
