Ways to Get Rid of Blemishes

Priya Johnson
Treatment measures such as laser removal techniques, creams, and other topical applications aim at reducing the appearance of blemishes that mar one's clear soft skin. However, natural remedies are safe and pose no risk or side effects.
Blemishes are nothing but marks, discolorations, or moles on the surface of the skin appearing in various shapes, sizes, and colors (pink, blue, brown, black, maroon, etc.). They can be caused by either acne, allergic reactions, whiteheads, blackheads, etc.
Darker blemishes and older ones will take longer to lighten. Blemishes, especially those on the face can make one feel conscious and insecure. To get rid of them, you can use various blemish removal creams, lotions, etc., however, to be on the safe side, it's best to stick to natural remedies.

Garlic Capsules

Take one garlic capsule, snip off its tip and squeeze out the contents into a tablespoon of a moisturizer of your choice. Mix well and apply it on the blemishes. Applying this before going out will help prevent further darkening and will also lighten the effect of the blemishes.

Turmeric Wonder

Turmeric has been touted for its effectiveness in healing and improving skin conditions for centuries together. Even in the case of blemishes, turmeric proves to be helpful! Just take a tablespoon of turmeric and squeeze in some drops of lemon juice. Make a paste and apply it on the discolored portions.

Coconut Remedy

Every day before going to bed apply some coconut oil on the blemishes. In the morning wash the oil off. Carry out this procedure for 15-20 days. Tender coconut water also works well on the blemishes. Just dab some tender coconut water onto the blemished area and leave it for half an hour. You will find a difference if you apply it continuously for 15 days.

Milk, Lemon, and Honey

In a bowl, add one teaspoon of milk powder and equal amounts of lemon juice, honey, and almond oil. Mix to form a paste and dab this paste onto the blemishes. After 15 minutes wash it off. This lightens the blemishes and also adds some radiance to the face.

Carrot Juice

Take a small carrot and blend it in the blender with some water. Prepare its juice and apply this nutritious juice onto your blemishes. Allow it to work on the marks for 15 minutes before washing it off with water. Apply this for two weeks and you will see results.

Sandalwood Powder

To a teaspoon of sandalwood powder, add some rosewater and make a thick paste. Sandalwood works wonders on the skin, so, apply this paste on the blemishes and rinse it off once it is dry.

Strawberry Mash

Take 4-5 strawberries and mash them. Pour some vinegar into the mashed strawberries until a paste-like consistency is formed. The vinegar used here should have 'mother of vinegar' in it and can be found in health food stores. Apply the paste on the blemishes and let it stay overnight. In a week's time the difference will be noticeable.
If none of these remedies bring about any difference, then, there are some multi-step blemish cleansing regimes, which are higher-end acne and blemish treatments. There is also the laser blemish removal treatment that clears blemishes with the help of laser beams.
Sometimes, blemishes can be avoided with proper skin care. Wash, tone, and moisturize your skin daily. Proper skin care will minimize the vulnerability to blemishes.
