Every woman loves to have shiny, thick hair with a soft texture. However, due to repeated exposure to sunlight, dust, dirt, pollution and harsh chemicals present in hair care products, hair become dull and lifeless. Even the hair growth is affected.
Sometimes, the hair are so badly damaged that use of a regular hair conditioner fails to improve the hair condition. At this point of time, your hair needs some extra nourishment which can be provided by the yolk. The reason why more and more women prefer to use egg yolk is that it is absolutely safe for the hair and is not at all expensive.

Benefits of Egg Yolk on Hair

Essential nutrients present in egg yolk are: high quality protein, vitamins like A, E, & D, high amount of sulfur and fatty acids. Egg yolk is a natural hair conditioner because of all these nutritional components. Read ahead about some of the important effects.

Egg yolk needs to be used differently for treating different kinds of hair problems. A few simple methods of treatment are:

As Hair Conditioner

Ingredients:  1 ripe avocado and an egg yolk.

♦  Mash the avocado to make a smooth paste, mix the egg yolk in it and stir the ingredients well.

♦  Shampoo your hair and apply the paste all over. After 15 minutes wash off with cold water.

♦  This conditioner suits all hair types and improves the overall condition of hair.

As Hair Moisturizer

Ingredients: 1 tablespoon of yogurt and honey, 1/2 tablespoon almond oil and 1 egg yolk.

♦  Beat the yolk with other ingredients properly to obtain a uniform consistency.

♦  Massage this on the scalp coating the hair strands. Cover your head with a shower cap for 1 hour and wash off with cold water.

♦  This reduces dryness of hair and repairs the damage.

To Control Hair Loss

Ingredients :  2 egg yolks, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 cup of water.

♦  Apply the mixture of the ingredients on the scalp and hair. Massage with tips of your fingers for 5 minutes so that it gets absorbed in the hair roots.

♦  Leave it untouched for 15 minutes and then wash the hair with lukewarm water. This helps in deep conditioning and avoids hair fall.
If your hair are extremely damaged, you may not notice any improvement in the first few weeks of using egg yolk. But be patient and continue doing this once a week for one month and then see the difference. After your hair condition improves, do not stop using egg yolk as hair conditioner as it helps to maintain healthy hair and prevent further damage.
